Handmade Vs. Homemade
Lovlies I'm Back!!
So I have been spending sometime with my sweet Granny and I am learning the craftsmanship of sewing. Yes I am going back to the old ways of making my own clothes. Now this doesn't mean I won't be shopping anymore because lets face it I LOVE clothes. But with that being said, you know having something one of a kind it lots of fun too!
Having something handmade makes you just warm and fuzzy on the inside, weather it be boots, shoes, bits, spurs, purses, or furniture knowing it is only yours makes you happy. Now where my controversy is, begins with handmade items have an outstanding quality something to be worn and used for years to come. Homemade items while they are filled with endless amounts of love the craftsmanship is something that could be improved.
I plan for all of my clothes to be in the Handmade category. I am going to work and work until people won't know if the clothes on my body are store bought or not until they ask where did you get that.
This blog I will be showing of lots of BRIGHT and BOLD prints. Even though summer is wrapping up all of these looks can transition in to fall with a few moderations.
Ok so this first little fun dress has quite the story. My Papa worked for Delta Airlines and they were going to a ball back in the late 70's when my Granny purchased this fabric. Well some contradicting plans happened and they weren't able to go, so fast forward to 2014 and I gave it a life it had been longing for. This is a simple long sleeve Maxi Dress with French Darts at the bust. And here is proof that fashion repeats itself. Yes this dress was made by yours truly!
I wore a simple amount of jewelry with this look. Necklace: Juicy Couture dove. Earrings: Jewls by Jules Bracelets: Random stacked gold bangles.
Now on to my fav shorts! How fun is this print?? Like to die for right? I am not sure how Granny acquired this one but I am sure glad that she did!
Shorts made by me :) all other details listed below...
This shirt is made my Plenty by Tracey Reese! Jewelry is turquoise acquired on many trips and the tiffany cuff was made by Nick Cunningham at Bad Bronc Studio. The hammered silver cuff was made by Preston Johnson and B Bar J Custom Designs. I am thankful to have such talented friends : )
Now for that comfy casual but still chic look that we all want to rock. I want to make sloppy look effortless but put together. Whew that is a challenge.
Go stock you closets with Boyfriend Jeans and printed tops. They are your essential throw on pieces, and so perfect together!
These Jeans come from Forever 21, the top is Buckle Boutique, The boots, I have no shame they're Faded Glory. I won't pass up a good shoe just because I found it at WalMart. Fashion can be hard on the pocket. Jewelry will be listed later on with close ups of the pieces.
Here are the accessories that I paired with the above outfit. I don't know where they all came from but I will give it my best effort.
Pearl Necklace was found at Forever 21 and I added this killer pendant made from a sweet maker in Stephenville
The Orange and Leaf Necklace was given to me by my Big Momma.
Feather Earrings: Forever 21
Wood Bracelet: Bought at a booth at a Ranch Rodeo wish I knew the store because I need more!

Earrings: They are made by Jewls by Jules in Fairfield TX
Bracelets: I wish I knew they have been purchased on many travels
Werk! I feel like I am doing a high fashion shoot for Vogue here instead of shooting on some side alley off the square hahaha.
